Visiting 2002 Haus is
like a opening a time capsule from the 70s. You never know what Rob
has in his shop that looks like something you'd only see in a Mike Macartney
book about 2002s. |
 |
San Luis Obispo, 180 miles south of San Jose is quite green
and chilly this time of year.
My last trip this way was Fest West in September 2001. |

You can bet you'll be confronted by the gate guards at 2002
Haus... Rob's friendly attack cats! |
 |
Who's in town today but Steve (BMW2002FAQ) Kupper, watching
Rob work on the brakes of this really nice
2002tii Touring in his shop... a beauty... and it's Rob's car. Steve's fine
E30 "Frankenstein" pays a visit also. |

|
Sometime in '73 model year, BMW started calling them a 2002
Touring instead of 2000 Touring. |

On a touring the tailpipe exits on the left. |

Rob is helping me rebuild several
components of Stella to like new or better condition. Here's an example:
Seen below are the original tii backing plates that are NLA now. These were
bead blasted and powder coated
silver to show off the big brake setup I will have installed soon. |

No trip to Rob's would be complete without a feast at
Chacho's in Oceano. Awesome food for sure. |
 |
|
On a trip to places north of SLO, we spotted this old Jag
waiting to go back on the road again... and... |
 |
|
Also, this interesting old Studebaker pickup truck.
Restoration, anyone? |
 |
All in all, this was a great trip. I always learn so much in
a short period of time at Rob's... they don't call
him the "tiiguy" for nothing... Stop in and visit there - it's well worth
your time..
