July 2004: SPECIAL 2002 EVENT

Our fellow enthusiast in Arkansas, Chris Leonard has found a way to thank his customers by having a get together in the summer in Hot Springs which is near his shop in Conway, Arkansas. In 2003, the first event was held but I couldn't attend. This year the weather was superb and we all went down to visit and meet new '02 owners.  Little did I realize this was a 1,000 mile journey round trip for me in 2 days. Sadly since my 2002tii is not complete I made the trip in the E30 but was thankfully able to stretch it's legs on a long trip for the first time, and I saw 30+mpg driving it through the mountains. The E30 318is does the job easier in some ways, but not the same as, a 2002.  I'm obviously looking forward to 2005's drive in Stella for a repeat visit.
